Stories with Purpose
I don’t write simply to tell stories.
I write to create conversations that heal, inspire growth, and encourage people of every age to discover purpose through the power of storytelling.
Every project you find here was created with intention. Whether you’re reading a memoir, sharing a children’s book with your family, or exploring future works, my hope is that each one leaves you encouraged long after you’ve turned the final page.
Featured Work
Every story begins with a purpose.
Each project you see below was created to do more than entertain. Every book represents a commitment to healing, encouraging meaningful conversations, and inspiring readers to see new possibilities within their own lives.
Whether written for adults or children, every story is designed with one hope in mind:
To leave every reader stronger, wiser, and more hopeful than when they began.
Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote The Prison Before Prison because I believe many of us spend years living behind invisible prisons built by grief, trauma, fear, and the choices we make in response to pain.
For years, I carried pain I didn’t know how to express. I learned that some of the strongest prisons aren’t made of concrete and steel—they’re built from unresolved hurt, fear, shame, and silence.
This memoir is my story, but more importantly, it’s an invitation for you to reflect on your own. Through honesty, accountability, faith, and healing, I share the lessons that transformed my life with the hope that they encourage you to believe transformation is possible for yours as well.
I believe our past may explain where we’ve been, but it doesn’t have to determine where we’re going.
What You’ll Discover
When I wrote this book, I didn’t write it to tell you what to think. I wrote it to encourage you to reflect on your own story.
As you read, my hope is that you’ll discover:
Healing begins when we’re honest about our pain.
Accountability is not about shame; it’s about growth.
Forgiveness can bring freedom, even after life’s deepest wounds.
Your past may influence your future, but it doesn’t have to define it.
Purpose is often waiting on the other side of our greatest challenges.
My hope isn’t simply that you finish this book.
My hope is that you finish it believing your next chapter can be different from your last.
Is This Book for You?
If you’ve ever wondered whether your past has already written your future…
If you’ve ever carried pain that felt impossible to put into words…
If you’ve ever searched for hope in the middle of difficult circumstances…
Or if you’ve simply been looking for a story that reminds you change is possible…
Then I believe The Prison Before Prison was written with you in mind.

A Letter to You
Words for the Days You Are Hurting
Book One of the A Letter to You Series
Some pain is easy to see. Other pain is carried quietly—behind a smile, a routine, or the words, “I’m fine.”
A Letter to You: Words for the Days You Are Hurting is a compassionate collection of letters written for the moments when life feels heavier than you know how to explain.
These letters speak to grief, loneliness, disappointment, regret, rejection, self-doubt, heartbreak, anger, fear, and the exhaustion that comes from trying to remain strong while something inside you is hurting.

Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote A Letter to You because sometimes people don’t need someone to tell them how to fix what they’re feeling.
Sometimes they simply need to know that someone understands.
There are emotions we carry quietly because we don’t know how to explain them—or because we’ve convinced ourselves that we should already be over them.
I wanted to create something readers could turn to on those days.
Not a book that tells you to forget what happened. Not a book that asks you to pretend everything is okay.
A book that meets you where you are.
These letters are my way of reminding you that healing can take time, difficult emotions deserve to be understood, and having a painful day does not erase the progress you’ve already made.
Sometimes healing begins when we finally hear the words we needed someone to say:
You matter.
Your feelings matter.
Your story matters.
And you are not alone.
What You’ll Discover
As you read A Letter to You, my hope is that you’ll discover:
That you don’t have to hide what you feel in order to be strong.
That healing doesn’t have to happen on anyone else’s timeline.
That forgiveness and letting go are processes, not switches.
That painful experiences can be part of your story without becoming its conclusion.
That your worth does not disappear because someone failed to recognize it.
That you can acknowledge yesterday without allowing it to control tomorrow.
This isn’t a book you have to rush through.
Read one letter.
Sit with it.
Return to it when you need it.
Is This Book for You?
If you’ve ever felt alone even while surrounded by people…
If you’re carrying something from your past that still hurts…
If you’re grieving, rebuilding after disappointment, learning to forgive, questioning your worth, or simply tired of pretending to be okay…
Or if you’re looking for meaningful words to give someone you care about…
Then A Letter to You was written with you in mind.

More Than a Children’s Book Series
I created Jayce’s Heartlight Adventures because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to understand their emotions, develop empathy, and discover the confidence to be themselves.
Children experience sadness, fear, anger, loneliness, excitement, and joy just like adults do. Yet many don’t have the words to express what they’re feeling. My hope is that these stories give children—and the adults who love them—a safe place to begin meaningful conversations.
Every adventure is designed to remind children that every emotion matters, every voice deserves to be heard, and every heart has the ability to make a difference.
What Families Will Discover
Through each adventure, my hope is that children and the adults reading with them will discover:
That every emotion has value.
That kindness begins with understanding.
That listening can be one of the greatest acts of love.
That empathy is a strength.
That every child has a unique light to share with the world.
These stories aren’t just meant to be read.
They’re meant to be shared, discussed, and remembered.

Why I Wrote This Story
I wrote Jayce and the Quiet Cloud because I wanted children to understand that not every feeling is visible.
Sometimes the people who smile the brightest are carrying emotions they don’t know how to express. Through Jayce’s kindness, curiosity, and compassion, I hope children learn that noticing someone’s feelings and offering understanding can make a lasting difference.
I believe empathy is one of the greatest gifts we can teach the next generation, and this story is my invitation for children and families to begin that journey together.
What You’ll Discover
As you read Jayce and the Quiet Cloud, I hope you’ll discover:
That it’s okay to talk about feelings.
That kindness begins with noticing others.
That empathy can change lives.
That every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued.
Most of all, I hope this story encourages meaningful conversations that continue long after the final page is turned.
Begin the Adventure
Thank you for taking the time to explore Jayce and the Quiet Cloud.
I hope Jayce’s story becomes one that your family returns to again and again—not just because it’s enjoyable, but because it opens the door to conversations that help children grow with confidence, compassion, and courage.
Jayce and the Thunder Inside
Jayce’s Heartlight Adventures — Book Two
Sometimes anger feels like thunder.
It can build quietly inside until suddenly it feels too big to hold.
In Jayce and the Thunder Inside, Jayce’s Heartlight Adventures continues with a story designed to help children recognize, understand, and talk about anger without teaching them to be ashamed of what they feel.
Coming September 1, 2026
Why I Wrote This Story
I wrote Jayce and the Thunder Inside because anger is one of the emotions children are often told to stop expressing before they’re ever taught how to understand it.
But anger itself isn’t what makes a child bad.
Sometimes anger is telling us that something hurts.
Sometimes it tells us that something feels unfair.
Sometimes it appears when we’re frustrated, embarrassed, afraid, disappointed, or simply don’t have the words to explain what’s happening inside.
I wanted this story to help children understand that having a big feeling does not make them a bad person.
What matters is learning what that feeling is trying to tell us—and what we choose to do with it.
What You’ll Discover
As children and families read Jayce and the Thunder Inside, my hope is that they’ll discover:
That anger is an emotion—not an identity.
That big feelings can be understood instead of feared.
That it’s okay to pause before reacting.
That talking about what is happening inside can help.
That children can learn healthier ways to express difficult emotions.
That compassion still matters when someone is having a hard moment.
The goal isn’t to teach children that they should never become angry.
The goal is to help them understand what to do when the thunder comes.
Continuing Jayce’s Heartlight Adventures
Jayce and the Thunder Inside is Book Two of Jayce’s Heartlight Adventures.
The series was created to give children—and the adults who love them—a safe place to begin meaningful conversations about emotions, empathy, kindness, confidence, and emotional growth.

Children don’t need to be taught that difficult emotions make them difficult people.
They need language.
They need understanding.
They need safe adults willing to listen.
